Ann Romney and Paralympian Rebecca Hart to Appear on ABC's Good Morning America
On Wednesday, Oct. 10 between 8-9 a.m. EDT, ABC's Good Morning America will feature Ann Romney presenting video clips of Paralympian Rebecca Hart riding Lord Lugar.
As an equestrian with a disability, Romney, wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, will discuss how riding has helped her deal with multiple sclerosis and its therapeutic effect for others with disabilities. Three members of the Good Morning America crew went to Blue Hill Farm, owned by Ransehousen's mother, Jessica Ransehousen, in Unionville, PA, Monday to film Hart riding her London Paralympic Games partner, Lord Ludger, The crew also interviewed Hart and Missy Ransehousen about the therapeutic benefits of riding. "This is geared more towards the therapeutic end of it, rather than the high performance end of it," Ransehousen said. Hart placed fourth in the Grade II Team test at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London and fifth in the Freestyle. Hart was born with Familial Spastic Paraplegia, a genetic disease that causes muscle wasting and lack of control from the waist down, and credits riding with keeping her mobility intact.
