APHA Announces 2012 Running Champions

Logging a fantastic year on the track, CRM Livewire and Flashthechicks were named the American Paint Horse Association’s 2012 Running World Champions. CRM Livewire took home the World Champion title for Regular Registry Paints, and Flashthechicks was the Solid Paint-Bred World Champion. They topped the field of 20 APHA Running Champions for the 2012 season.

Gilbert Ortiz Presented with Sam Thompson Memorial Jockey Award

On Sept. 2 at Ruidoso Downs, jockey Gilbert Ortiz was honored in a winner’s circle presentation as the recipient of the second annual Sam Thompson Memorial Jockey Award. Popular horse racing sportscaster Chris Lincoln emceed the award presentation, which was held just prior to the running of the All American Gold Cup.
