What is my User ID?
Your User ID is the email address that you used when you registered.
Be sure to use the full email address (you@youremail.com).
What
is my password?
You picked your password when you registerd. Be sure to enter it
EXACTLY the same way. Our passwords are case-sensitive (PaSSWord
is not the same as password).
I
forgot my password, can you send it to me?
We cannot send you your password, but we can send you a brand new
one or if you entered a hint when you registered, we can give that
to you. Go to our lost
password page.
Why can't I log in?
There are several reasons why you aren't
able to log in:
First, ensure that you are entering your entire email address and
password correctly. If you are positive that you are entering your
email address and password correctly and are being returned to the
login page again, either your browser isn't accepting our cookie,
or your browser is cacheing (remembering) the page and not refreshing
it.
To
correct these problems, verify that your browser and firewall are
set to allow cookies. In Internet Explorer, this is done through
your browser's Tools > Internet Options > click the Privacy
tab and make sure that your settings are no higher than Medium-High.
Also in the Internet Options, click the General tab and in the Temporary
Internet Files, click Settings - in the "Check for newer versions
of stored pages" section, click on "Every visit to the
page."
You'll
also have to make similar changes to your firewall software, if you
have any.
Other things to try:
- Look to see if you have our cookie stored in your >Windows
> Cookies folder. Our cookie is from http://ehorseads.com and
is named "mdwac" - if the cookie information is blank,
you aren't being logged in properly, if the cookie isn't there
at all, your computer is blocking it somehow.
- Try using another browser, like Netscape.
How
do I search for an ad?
In the left column of the main page, choose the discipline you want.
You can then search and all the horses in that discipline will be
displayed, or you can narrow your search by choosing age and breed.
For saddle, etc, you must click search by the saddle button not
the horse button.
What is "My List"? And, how do you use
it?
As you browse through the ads on our site, use the "Add to My List"
button that appears with every ad to put it on your list. Browse
freely from page to page or section to section (horses to saddles,
for instance.) We'll keep track of the ads you select, no matter
where they're from. At any point, you can use the "View My List"
button that appears at the top and bottom of most pages to look
at the ads you've selected. For your convenience, the ads you've
chosen will be presented in a "printer friendly" format. You can
use the "Clear My List" button at any time to wipe your list clean
and start over.
Does "My List"
cost anything? No. It's completely free.
Does using "My
List" obligate me to buy what's in the ads? Not at all. It's simply
a tool we provide to make your use of our site easier and more convenient.

How do I change
the text in my ad?
If you paid for a 30 day ad, your text is editable. Click here to
go to the User
Center, log in and click the 'Edit or Renew Your Ads' option.
If you paid for a Run 'til it Sells or if you placed a free text
only ad, your text description is NOT editable.
How do I cancel
my ad?
There is no way for you to manually cancel your own ad online. If
you've placed a 30-day ad, you can edit your text description to
indicate that the horse or item has been sold, etc. If you placed
a Run 'til it Sells ad, your ad will expire on it's own at the end
of your next 30 day renewal period if you do not renew it. Free
text ads will expire on their own after 30 days.
If you need
to have your ad removed immediately, please email
Us with your ad ID# from your REGISTERED email address. Your
request MUST come from the email account that you gave us when you
registered, it should appear on your ad. We do not give refunds
for cancelled ads.
After I place
my ad, why does my ad not immediately appear on the main page?
The main page of eHorseAds.com is updated every 60 minutes automatically.
If you paid by credit card, your ad will appear on the main page
in 60 minutes or less. However, if you paid by check, your ad will
not be seen until your check is received.
Why does my ad not come up when I search using
the keywords search box?
The search option updates every 2 hours. If you ad is paid by a
credit card, it is immediately put into the data base for searching.
However, the keyword search will update with your information every
2 hours or less.
How do I get a spaces
between the horses in my multiple horse listing?
Hitting the return key while typing your ad will put line breaks
in your ad. For a double space between paragraphs, hit the return
key twice. Please remember that each keystroke counts as one character
towards your ad's text limit, additional characters will be charged
to you at 10¢ per 10 characters.

What
type of checks will eHorseAds.com accept?
All checks personal or business with check numbers over 500 are
accepted. Non Sufficient Funds checks will be immediately turned
over to collections and a $25 fee will be applied. BE SURE TO PUT
YOUR PHONE NUMBER ON YOUR CHECK IN CASE eHorseAds.com has questions.

If I pay by check,
how long will it take for my ad to be placed online?
The ad will be placed online when your check clears your bank. In
most cases ads paid by check will go active in 7-10 business days.
How will you locate
my ad to activate it if I send a check?
If you send a check, you MUST INCLUDE YOUR AD ID#. Without your
username, we will not be able to locate your ad. Thus, it will take
additional time for us to activate your ad! Print
out an extra copy of your receipt, keep one for yourself, send us
the other one with your check. Please write your ad ID# on your
check.
Can I get a refund
on my ad if my horse sells early? Can I get refund for any reason?
No. Absolutely no refunds are given for any reason. Once your ad
is placed online, you can not get any type of refund.

How do I add pictures
to my ad?
For paid ads, your first photo is free, each additional photo up
to 5 is $5 per photo. When placing or editing your ad, you'll see
a section for photos that says, "Add a free picture." Use the
"Browse" button to locate a jpg or gif image on your PC.
Or come back and do this later.
How
much does it cost to have eHorseAds.com scan my photo?
$15 and no photos will be returned unless accompanied by a self-addressed
stamped envelope with sufficient postage.
Why
does my picture look jagged or blown up?
When you submit a picture it should be no more than 300 pixels wide
and no bigger than 100k in file size.
Why am I getting
a file to big or file size exceeded error?
When you submit a picture it should be no more than 300 pixels wide
and no bigger than 100k in file size. To check file size on a PC
simply pull up your image using Internet or WIndows Explorer and
right click and select properties. On a MAC click on the image once
and hit command-i.
How do I scan my
picture?
You will need to buy a scanner or visit a Kinkos or photo shop near
you to scan the picture. The file type of your scan must be *.jpg
or *.gif to be accepted by Horsecity.com. After you scan your picture,
be to make its size no larger than 400 pixels wide or tall. Also,
saving it as a jpg file will most likely keep the file size small.
100kb is the file size maximum on Horsecity.com.
How do I know how
big my picture is in file size?
On a PC click on "My Computer" on your desktop. Navigate until you
find the picture. Once you locate it click it just once. A preview
of the image should appear in the left margin and the file size
should be there too. This presumes you are running Windows 95/98
on your PC. On MAC, Locate the folder in which your file resides.
List your files as text and look at the file size to the right.
I want to edit my
pictures, how do I do this?
Log into the User
Center, click 'Edit or Renew Your
Ads' and select the ad with the image you want to change. In the
Photo section, simply click the 'Browse' button and select your
new image - this one will replace the original. This option is only
available for 30-Day paid ads.
What program
should I use to edit, crop and re-size my pictures?
The best photo program is Adobe PhotoShop. Since most
home users have no need for this program, many choose a program
called Paint Shop Pro. This program can be found online
in trial version at http://www.jasc.com
