Red Carpet Premier of First Time Horse Owner Video to be Held at Kentucky Horse Park

HorseSmarts:Essential Advice for Today's Horse Owner, an educational video for new and potential horse owners will premier at the Kentucky Horse Park on April 23, 2009 in conjunction with the Rolex Three Day Event. The film, created by the Kentucky Horse Council (KHC) and produced by Marvo Entertainment Group, features equine experts from throughout Kentucky.

In addition to the Premier event, the sixty minute video is also slated to air multiple times on all 15 affiliates of Kentucky Educational Television beginning in May 2009. The DVD will be available for purchase at athe Premier, throughout the last three days of the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event, and online. A number of retailers throughout Kentucky will also carry the DVD.

The DVD contains 10 chapters including horse selection considerations, nutrition, hoof care, safety, tack, veterinary care, preventative healthcare, facilities, trailer loading and transportation, and all about the Kentucky Horse Council. Supplemental information and articles are included in PDF format on the DVD and can be viewed and printed after purchase.

"The production of this resource is just one of the many ways we are fulfilling our mission to provide education to horse owners and support the growth and development of a healthy equine community," reflected KHC Board President, Madelyn Millard. "This is a resource not just for Kentuckians but for all novice and potential horse owners."

Filmed on location at horse farms and equine facilities throughout Kentucky, HorseSmarts features renowned jockey Chris McCarron as the host. Special presenters include: Bob Coleman, PhD PAS, Charles Anderson, PhD, Roberta Dwyer, DVM, Jennifer Newman, DVM, Mitch Taylor, CJF, and many more.

Admission to the Premier is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Showings are scheduled for 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. on April 23, 2009 in the North Theatre at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
