Beacon Hill Show Stables, located in Colts Neck, NJ, competed for high ribbons this past weekend at the Four Seasons I Show in Titusville, NJ. The show stable is owned and managed by trainers Frank and Stacia Madden, and assistant trainers Krista Freundlich, Max Amaya, and Jennifer Griffiths contribute to the training program at Beacon Hill as well.
At the Four Seasons I show, Carolyn Curcio continued her winning ways with Valvert in the equitation ring. She triumphed for blue ribbons in the NJPHA Gold Medal, the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) Jumper Phase, and the WIHS Overall. Maria Schaub and I Toon, a horse she showed throughout the winter, ranked third overall for the WIHS, and Christina Lin won the ASPCA Maclay aboard Allegro. Lin also earned fourth in the USEF Medal.
Annie Davidson and Guiness showed in the USEF Medal and placed second. Davidson won fourth in the NJPHA Gold Medal, fourth in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, and fifth in the ASPCA Maclay. Laura King -Kaplan earned second in the WIHS Hunter Phase and third in the USEF Talent Search on Charlie Z, and Rachel Roter received the red ribbon in the ASPCA Maclay and fifth place in the NJPHA Gold Medal with her mount Casino.
In addition to her success in the equitation arena, King- Kaplan dominated the Small Junior Hunters with her adorable horse Heartfelt. They won the championship tricolor after finishing with three firsts and a second over fences and first under saddle. She was also reserve champion on North Country in the Large Juniors and won two seconds, two thirds, and a fifth. Roter showed Wizard ofÊOz in the LargeÊJunior Hunters and jogged for fourth, fifth, and two seventh place ribbons.
Nicole Lakin and Wedgewood took three second place ribbons over fences in the Adult 18-35 Hunters and came away with the reserve championship. In the same division, Lion King and Lindsey Mohr earned first, third, and fourth over fences, and Alexis Healey guided Serendipity to fourth and seventh place. Mohr also won top honors in the HBO Adult Medal and fourth in the Ariat Medal.
Krista Freundlich piloted Moriah to two blue ribbons and the reserve championship in the Low Hunter division, and Beacon Hill student Katie McBride rode Remsen to second and seventh over fences. Heather Senia also captured second and sixth places aboard Mickey Mouse.
The Pre-Adult Hunter division championship went to Ellen Healey and Tuscan. The Four Season I Horse Show was only their second show ever, and it was also their first show at the 2'6'' height. Along with the tricolor, they wonÊtwo firsts and a fourth over fences and third under saddle.
Marvel and Kristen Mohr won two sixths over fences in the Children's Hunter 14 & Under Horse division, and Erica Polle rode Moriah to third over fences and sixth under saddle. Polle competed in the Marshall Sterling Children's Hunter Classic and finished in third place after earning a high score of 85 in the second round.ÊShe also showed Whimsey for the first time and participated in the mini-equitation, receiving an 83 and later taking fourth place in the Show Circuit Medal. Beacon Hill's Lauren Loshiavo also pinned eighth in the Show Circuit Medal on Prince Vince.
In addition to competing in the Children's Hunter division, Kristen Mohr was the overall champion for the Children's Large Ponies after winning all of the classes over fences with her catch-ride, My Thriller. She rode her pony, A Happy Medium, in the Children's Small/Medium Pony division and received two thirds and a fourth over fences.
In theÊAdult Amateur Jumpers,ÊCathy Clark rode her horse Dublin to third, and Darby Mazzarisi and her mount Lady Belle earned fifth place. ÒIt was a great weekend for our adult jumpers,Ó commented Krista Freundlich. ÒThey were both double clear, and it was their first show of the year because they did not compete in Florida. It was also Lady Belle's first show after having a foal in 2004.Ó
