Oklahoma City, OK -- The National Reining Horse Association is proud to announce that it recently completed the Association's 60,000th membership. Australian Brodie McDonald's youth membership was completed on July 14, 2009 giving him this one-of-a-kind designation. Previous milestones in NRHA membership include number 40,000 being issued to Lorena Braucht in 2002 and number 50,000 being issued to Donna Reinarts in 2006.
NRHA's membership is as strong as ever with a 20% increased over the last five years. NRHA showing statistics also have been strong with domestic shows increasing 24%, Canadian shows increasing 56% and International shows nearly doubling since 2004. In that same time frame, six new states, three new provinces and seven new countries have hosted NRHA-approved shows. So far this year, all indicators are favorable for NRHA participation as well. 2009 NRHA Futurity entries to-date are among the largest in history and the 2009 NRHA Derby Show purse witnessed steady increases for yet another year.
