Linda Tellington-Jones and John Lyons headline a list of the best and most innovative clinicians in the horse world who will cover a wide range of trail riding topics from training to saddle fit to on-the-trail emergency medicine for horse and rider. Joining them will be: Peggy Cummings, Jochen Schleese, Susan Harris, Peggy Brown, Monique Craig, Susan Garlinghouse, DVM , Sue De Laurentis & Allen Pogue, Ella Bittel, Holistic Veterinarian, Dan Weltner & Kristi Redd, National Outdoor Leadership School, Willis Lamm. In addition to this all-star lineup, the Festival will have a wide range of fun and educational demos and displays relating to trail riding. There will be drawings held for thousands of dollars of gear, vacations and services for the trail rider, and a number of fun demos and displays. This first-ever trail expo is being sponsored by Purina Mills, Lawman Jeans, Durvet, Rancho Oso and Trail Blazer Magazine. All of these companies are devoted to the trail riders and their horses, and have joined forces to make sure that this event is very different by the higher level of education being offered. The Festival will be showcasing the best breeds of horses for trail by the First Annual ÒBattle of the Breeds.Ó Fourteen breed registries have thrown their hat into ring to complete in a mega-trail class competition in the main arena Friday and Saturday nights. Friday night will be the adult class, and Saturday night will be the 12-and-under child class. The breeds who will compete this year are the: Rocky Mountain Horse, Paso Fino, Appaloosa, BLM Mustang, American Saddlebred, American Icelandic Horse, Kiefer Mustang, US Mangalargo Marchado, American Quarter Horse, American Morgan, Arabian Horse, Tennessee Walker and Missouri Fox Trotter.
