What are the trainers doing to get ready? We'll chat with each clinician to find out how they got started in the horse training biz, why they want to be a part of Road to the Horse, and what they have to say about the competition. In this second installment of our alphabetically-ordered interviews, we'll check in with Craig Cameron. Check out www.roadtothehorse.com often to find out more about your favorite contestant.
Here's more from Bluff Dale, Texas' Craig Cameron (www.craigcameron.com):
When did you train your first colt? Where were you? How old were you?
What do you remember about that horse? Anything funny?
How many colts have your started in your lifetime-round about?
Lots of horses have been challenging. One that comes to mind is "Outlaw Craig." He was un-trainable and un-rideable (sic) when I got him. Now, he's a top reining horse. He took lots of time, patience, innovative ideas and the mindset to never quit!
What do you remember most about last year's competition?
What will you do different this year?
What cowboy mentors do you study or look up to?
What horse-related magazines do you get at your house?
What horse related TV shows do you watch?
What made you want to be part of RTTH?
What's different when you train a horse at RTTH versus how you train at home?
What do you want people to know about the event?
What do you want people to know about your training methods?
Any friendly warnings or words of wisdom for your competitors? Read the interview with Martin Black. Read the interview with Van Hargis.
